  • Ever since we debuted this song on the air yesterday, it’s become the #1 requested track at KEXP: new music from Alt-J! Stream the track “Hunger of the Pine” below, from their sophomore album This Is All Yours, due out September 22nd via Warner Music. (Alas, yes, that is Miley Cyrus sampled from her single “4×4″… perhaps the first time she’s been heard on KEXP?) [Consequence of Sound]

  • We mentioned earlier this month that Interpol will release their fifth album El Pintor (or “The Painter” in Spanish) on September 9th via Matador Records. Today, you can watch a live clip for the track “Anywhere,” filmed back in March at London’s Brixton Academy. (While it has the annoying look of fan-shot footage, it was surprisingly professionally produced, so you can actually hear the song.) Check it out below: [Spin]

  • The Jack White/Black Keys rivalry continues, but this time on your plate. Starting July 1st, burger-chain Umami will feature The Black Keys’ Akron Burger, an “all-beef patty topped with Velveeta fondue, ‘secret sauce,’ yellow mustard, chopped onions, and pickles.” $1 from each burger sold will benefit The Black Keys Alfred McMoore Memorial Endowment Fund. Meanwhile in Australia, gelato shop Gelta Messina have released the “Jack ‘N White,” which is made with “Jack Daniels, caramelized white chocolate gelato, caramelized pecans, and caramelized fudge.” Don’t eat them in the same meal, or Jack might get mad. • Aimee Mann and Ted Leo — known together as The Both — brought their collaborative project to Conan last night. Watch them perform the track “No, Sir,” below, and fingers crossed it’s on the set list when the duo perform at the Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival in Seattle this Labor Day. • In other late night TV news, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is filming from Universal Orlando Resort this week, which set up the perfect opportunity for house band The Roots to rap about one of their favorite things: Harry Potter. Watch frontman Black Thought drop some knowledge on the book series below: [Pitchfork]
